- member states of the Convention on road traffic

Thus, if you have a valid driver's license issued by one of these states, you can drive in Switzerland, without the need to transcribe or change your driver’s license. Otherwise, in the situation where your license was issued by a state that does not fall into the above categories, you will need to exchange your driving license for a Switzerland one in order to be able to legally drive a car.

The rental car can be driven by people other than the person applying for the rental, but each person who intends to drive the car must present a valid ID and driver's license. If they cannot be physically present on the day of the car pick-up, a copy of their driver's license (front/back) will be required, as well as a copy of their passport or ID.

2. Questions about the booking process

Yes. Any person can book the rental car. However, they will need to confirm the driver's identity before registering the booking.
The vehicles made available by Autocom Rental can be reserved even 6 months in advance. Alternatively, in cases where you need a car quickly, reservations can be made at least 30 minutes in advance. If you want your car to be ready 30 minutes after the opening time of the agency, you will have to register your reservation the day before.
Yes, a deposit is required to register a car reservation. The total rental cost will be paid at the time of taking over the car.
Yes, but this is only possible if there are cars available within the agency. However, we still recommend that you make a reservation before renting, as our entire stock of vehicles may be unavailable during busy periods.
Yes, your reservation can be canceled if for some reason you are unable or unwilling to proceed with the rental process. In this situation please notify us as soon as possible to carry out the cancellation procedures. You will also need to provide us with the reservation number that you received on your email address at the time of registration.
If you cancel your reservation, a predetermined additional fee may apply. However, if you make sure to cancel your reservation more than 7 days before the pick-up date, no additional fees or charges will apply. The cancellation fee will only be applied to those who cancel their bookings less than 6 days in advance.

4. Questions about taking over the car

5. Questions about the use of the rented car

Your rental contract with Autocom Rental covers a distance of 200 km per day. Thus, you will be able to drive the rented car up to 200 km daily, without any additional costs. If you travel more than 200 km per day with the rental car, you will have to pay an additional fee (approx. 0.2 EUR) per kilometer.
Every car rented from Autocom Rental is delivered with a full tank and must be returned in the same condition. Thus, before returning the car, it is important to make sure that it is fully fueled. If the car is returned with less fuel than at the initial handover, you will have to pay an additional fee of 2.5 CHF per liter.
